Defensive Player 1 – Isaiah Simmons
Isaiah Simmons is one of the best players in the game regardless of position or side of the ball. At 6’4” 230 lbs the red shirt junior was hands down the best linebacker in all of college football last year. He had 67 solo tackles, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 3 interceptions and led the Clemson defense to the National Championship game, but unfortunately lost to Joe burrow and LSU. As a former safety converted to nickel linebacker he is excellent in coverage. Simmons is seen as an every down player that can play the run while also being able to cover every position. Clemson used him in a variety of creative ways and any NFL team would be lucky to add him to their roster.

Simmons is a day one starter and should go very early in the draft. Chase Young and Joe Burrow will most likely be the first and second overall picks, but Simmons won’t be far behind. Teams like the Giants and the Dolphins would be very smart to draft him. Both teams are building for the future and he could be a center piece for any defense. If those teams decide to trade with other teams who are looking for quarterbacks I could see Simmons falling to Carolina or Arizona.
